Ark: Survival Evolve Positives and Negatives.

Ark: Survival Evolve is a game available on Steam for 60 USD. It is a type of sandbox game a like Minecraft where you can explore, gather materials, craft and build. However, Ark: Survival Evolve stands out compared to Minecraft because in Ark: Survival Evolve you have the ability to hunt dinosaurs and other creatures, build castles, use guns, and even tame dinosaurs! Furthermore, Ark: Survival Evolve also has more realistic animations and graphics compared to Minecraft. At the start of the game, you spawn in a random location on the map, you must first gather resources to start creating weaponry's and build a base. From then on you could start making your own castle with a dinosaur army! I've currently played this game for 6 hours and I want to share with you some positives and negatives about this game.

Let's start off with some positives about the game. Out of every game I've played, I haven't been able to find a game similar to this. The ability to fight and tame dinosaurs is incredible as you'll be able to gather a dinosaur army and hunt down even stronger dinosaurs. Furthermore, you could choose not to have a dinosaur army and focus on having incredibly strong gear. With strong gear or a dinosaur army, you can attempt to raid other peoples bases and steal their items (if you're on a PVP server). However, I've personally focused on PvE servers and built a huge castle with my friends which were incredibly fun as we messed around doing many other things as well. The community (at least on my server) is very friendly and helpful at times. Overall, I enjoy the large area which could be explored, the helpful community and the ability to tame dinosaurs.

Okay, now let's talk about the negatives of Ark: Survival Evolve. Ark: Survival Evolve is definitely not as well optimized as other games. By not as well optimized I mean it requires a decent graphics card. Therefore a normal laptop or working desktop wouldn't be able to run it. Furthermore, I hate the shaking when gathering or hunting for materials. I also found it to be very difficult to look around, it feels like the screen just slides when you turn. I wished that turning around would be as smooth as first person shooters like Cs:Go and Overwatch.

As a conclusion, I believe that Ark: Survival Evolve is a great game but lacking a little bit with optimization, the shaking when in combat/gathering and the way turning around feel. However, if your thinking of purchasing Ark: Survival Evolve, I would recommend you watching some game-play or trying out Ark: Survival Of The Fittest (Free) first.
