Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO)
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is an action-packed, strategically guided first person shooter. With modes like Arms Race, Deathmatch, Demolition, and Competitive, there is always something to do. No matter what age, skill level or experience, CS:GO promises a good time. Almost everything purchasable in-game is purely cosmetic, so no need to worry about pay to wins, unlike other games like Team Fortress 2. Competitive (the most widely played and revered game mode) features two teams: Terrorist and Counter-Terrorist. While the terrorists' job is to plant the bomb in hopes the CT's won't find and defuse it, they also must play a strategically forward game. With tons of different maps to play on and guns to use, CS:GO will never cause boredom. In addition to this, it features a wide pro scene and fan base so you can really get immersed in the action.
Skins: What are they? Skins allow you to have better-looking weapons in-game. Each skin is unique and can be found In cases which you can obtain for free (as long as you have the game). While each case requires a key to open, the 3.25 CAD price tag for them is minimal compared to the fact that some skins can be sold for thousands of dollars. Knives (which I will talk about later) are the rarest type of skin. There are four common rarities for skins, but many more. The first rarity is Mil-spec (blue). These skins are very very common, and are usually worth only a few cents. Next up are Restricted (purple) skins. These range from about 50 cents to 5 dollars. Thirdly, classified (pink). Pink skins go from about $2 to $20. Finally, red (covert) skins. These are incredibly rare and expensive. Some red skins are over 700 dollars! Knives (which are coming up) are also red skins.
Knives. What are they? Each player has a knife, no matter what. However, the default (free) knives are really quite ugly and undesirable. That's why you can obtain new knives from cases. Knives are incredibly rare. Here are some knife types:
But there are many more! To make things even more exciting, knives come with patterns, too. Some of the most desirable and sought-after patterns are:
And many more! In figure 3 is a Karambit marble fade, one of the most expensive knives in the game.
So what makes knives so expensive? They are incredibly rare, and to be honest, quite beautiful to look at. But why does this apply to you? Well, should you choose to own Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, you should definitely try your luck in cases, in hopes to get a knife of your own.
