Intro to Path of Exile 2: Moonfall - Exploring Act

30.12.2025, 21:37
U4GM - Launching our latest event! Path of Exile 2: Moonfall introduces a rich and expansive world, with diverse environments and an intricate character progression system. As you begin your journey, the focus in Acts 1 and 2 will be on learning the basics of combat, understanding skills, and experimenting with various builds and ascendancies.

Skills and Combat Mechanics

In the early stages of the game, your character will have access to a range of starting skills. These are typically low-level abilities like Fireball, Ice Shot, and Heavy Strike, which serve as the foundation for your combat style. As you progress through Acts 1 and 2, you will unlock support gems and additional active skills, which can be socketed into your equipment to enhance your character’s abilities.

The skill gems are one of the most important aspects of your build, as they allow for massive customization. By linking skill gems with support gems, you can create powerful synergies that complement your playstyle. For example, if you’re focusing on a melee build, skills like Cleave and Whirlwind can be paired with support gems like Melee Physical Damage and Multistrike to increase your damage output.

Ascendancy Classes and Passive Tree

Path of Exile 2 introduces a variety of Ascendancy classes that give you unique powers to tailor your character. In Acts 1 and 2, you’ll begin to explore which Ascendancy fits your playstyle. Some key Ascendancy classes include:

Duelist: With the Slayer and Gladiator subclasses, the Duelist offers a versatile option for both offensive and defensive builds. Slayer excels at raw damage and leeching health, while Gladiator focuses on defense and crowd control.

Witch: The Necromancer and Elementalist subclasses provide opportunities for minion-focused or elemental damage builds. The Necromancer allows you to raise undead minions, while the Elementalist enhances your elemental damage and area-of-effect skills.

As you continue to level up, you will be able to assign points in the passive skill tree. The tree is vast, offering countless ways to enhance your character’s attributes, resistances, and offensive power. Early points should focus on survival, with improvements to Life, Mana, and Resistances being essential for surviving the tougher enemies in Acts 2 and beyond.

Equipment and Loot

Throughout Acts 1 and 2, you will find a variety of equipment, including weapons, armor, and accessories. These pieces of gear are vital to your success, offering boosts to your resistances, damage, and survivability. Keep an eye out for items that increase your Elemental Resistances or offer increased Movement Speed, as these can make a significant difference in your ability to navigate and survive.

Additionally, the game's crafting system allows you to enhance your items, adding modifiers like increased attack speed or life regeneration. The introduction of unique items in Acts 1 and 2 will also provide valuable boosts to your build, making it easier to clear enemies and progress further.
