question about the giveaways

Im trying to do one of the giveaways on this site and i'm confused about 2 of the missions which are: Get 2 badges from the free games, and finish atleast one mission in each of the 2 games you registered for. SO my question is: do these badges need to be made new or can i use the other badges that i have already gotten? because i tried it with the latter and it didnt work so im just wondering if its just me
