Aison is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game first released in 2008. In just a year, it had just under four million subscribers, and it has gone from strength to strength in the past few years thanks to innovative expansion packs. There are several different Aion classes you can choose from. Read on for a quick guide to Aion classes.

Aion Classes

The Aion world is incredibly detailed and involved, and features a wide variety of classes you can choose to join at the beginning of play. These also develop into subclasses once you reach a certain level. There have been several expansion packs which have introduced other, new classes to the world of Aion, with the developers modernizing and increasing the game opportunities at every turn. Which class you choose is entirely up to you, but here we present a quick guide to Aion classes.

The Warrior

Not much of a trickster, but definitely makes up for that with sheer brute force and resilience, the Warrior class of Aion bear the brunt of the attack and are tremendously powerful. Upon reaching Level 10, The Warrior can become one of these subclasses.

  • Templar: the Templar is the master of defense. They have a really high defense level and a whole bunch of shield skills, but can also inflict some serious damage.
  • Gladiator: experts with melee weapons, this Aion class is particularly proficient using polearms, their ultimate goal being to obtain a variety of battle skills. Very useful on the battlefield.

The Scout

The Scout is more concerned with speed, agility, and awareness. They pride themselves on a delicate touch and a measured approach. When the Scout hits Level 10, you can choose between these subclasses.

  • Ranger: undisputed masters of the bow, who focus almost entirely on ranged attacks. They are also capable of setting traps, making them adaptable to nearly any situation. Not especially good for melee attacks, but great for long-range.
  • Assassin: A potent melee specialist who quietly approaches their enemy and aims for vital spots to inflict the largest amounts of damage. Quiet and deadly, their prowess on the battlefield is unrivaled.

The Mage

Both incredibly powerful and rather vulnerable, the Aion class of the Mage is capable of utilizing spells and command the weather. Their downside is their cloth armor, however, so be careful of melee attacks. At Level 10, the Mage can become one of the following.

  • Spiritmaster: capable of controlling the elements, Spiritmasters can use wind, earth, fire, and water to either strengthen themselves or attack the enemy.
  • Sorcerer: also capable of controlling the elements, but uses them for more considered and scholarly means in comparison to Spiritmasters.

The Priest

The Priest is considered the backbone of any group. They can keep allies alive and are vital in ensuring their groups survive. They also have melee attacks, but not quite as powerful as other classes. At Level 10, they can become one of the following.

  • Cleric: specialize in using magical powers to heal and strengthen, as well as restore life and wield divine energy.
  • Chanter - owing to rigorous training of the body and mind, Chanters are skillful in healing, attacking, and enhancement spells, including moral and strength boosts.

The Technist

A relatively new addition to the Aion classes, the Technist is a powerful class that uses more modern weaponry and skills. They are a powerhouse of a class on the battlefield and will help lead their allies to victory. Once they reach Level 10, they can become either of these.

  • Gunslinger: a pistol-wielding warrior that can shoot almost non-stop, even while moving. They’re incredibly mobile, and can detect stealthed opponents.
  • Aethertech: Aethertechs summon war machines known as Bastions which are almost unstoppable in battle. Definitely a force to be reckoned with.

The Muse

A powerful and mysterious Aion class, the Muse are divinely blessed and specialize in magic, conjuring their goddess using song. They can also be extremely good healers on the battlefield when accompanied by a cleric. Level 10 Muses can turn into one of these.

  • Songweaver: also known as Bards, this Aion class stalk the battlefield singing their divine songs, lifting the hearts of their allies and striking doom into those of their enemies.
  • Vandal: a rare and loyal class, Vandals have been known to sacrifice themselves for the innocent, and possess strong ranged damage capabilities as well as powerful skill combos.

Aion Classes - Final Thoughts

So there’s a quick guide to the many classes in Aion. Each class has different skills and capabilities, so depending on how you play the game will dictate which class you feel most drawn to - whether healing or dealing damage is your style, there’s a class for you. Then the subclasses can add another layer to this, but by the time you reach this point of the game, you’ll know exactly what sort of specialty you want to focus on.
