For those of you who have been playing for a while, you’ll know that medals are really important in the game – they can buy expansions for your city, buy extra attempts for the Guild Expeditions and negotiate in them, as well as paying crew members for Arctic Harbor and Oceanic Terminal. But how do you get medals? Read on to find out what medals are, why they are important, and how to get medals.

Resources

Like most city-building games, and plenty of strategy games too, Forge of Empires requires players to juggle various different elements, from building construction and research, through to recruiting troops and units, all the while balancing your precious resources.

There are a few different resources to be aware of in the game. These are:

Coins – the most common and frequently used resource

Forge Points – these help out with loads of advancements, and are in hot demand

Expansions – one of the most precious resources, that allow you to expand your city

Supplies – an abundant resource used for lots of things

Diamonds – a premium currency that’s used in the game

Blueprints – used to construct buildings

Goods – needed for advanced construction and research

Population – how many people in your city, which determines what you can build

Happiness – the happiness of your people impacts how many supplies enter your city

Medals – an essential resource for advancing in the game

So there are a few things to think about already! But in this article we are going to focus on Medals, and how to get medals.

What are Medals?

To put it very simply – they’re a resource you can trade for something. Medals, in particular, can be traded to unlock victory expansions, which makes them a really important currency in the game. However, bear in mind that the more victory expansions you unlock, the higher the cost of the next one – so if you want to create a sprawling metropolis, you’ll have to get your hands on plenty of medals.

They can also get you extra attempts with things like Guild Expeditions, which are cooperative quests, and for those of you who play Guild vs. Guild, they can unlock defending armies as well as placing sieges – but only when you’re in the All Ages province. And the last use for medals is paying the crew members for Arctic Harbour and Oceanic Terminal.

How to get Medals – Special Buildings

There’s a few different ways that you can get medals. The most common method of getting this precious resource is using special buildings, such as the Terrace Farm. Many of these produce medals automatically, but they have to be collected after a certain amount of time – usually 24 hours. There are also a few buildings that give you the option to produce medals, like a regular production building. Some special buildings may even randomly give you a medal as a reward – the Wishing Well has been known to do this occasionally. The number of medals produced also depends on how old it is.

How to get Medals – Great Buildings

Many of the great buildings also produce medals, with the amount of medals being dependent on the level of the great building. Four of the most common medal-producing great buildings are the Colosseum, Deal Castle, Gaea Statue, and the Blue Galaxy. However, we have a couple of extra tips that’ll get you more medals in no time.

Chateau Frontenac

The Chateau Frontenac has a multiplier bonus for when medals appear, and at level 40, it will produce 5,200 medals each time they come up. Combine this with regular recurring quests, and you could generate up to 15,000 medals a day! Even at the lower level of 15, the Chateau can produce 200 medals a day – though this is dependent on your city set-up. So be sure to keep your Chateau leveled up!

The Arc

The Arc is another great building that gives you multipliers for medals – usually only when you have leveled a rival player’s great building. If you do this often, you can easily get your hands on lots of medals – for instance, a level 10 Arc after leveling another player’s Arc from level 1 to 2 would mean you end up with 267 medals. This great building also takes up much less space than the three mentioned above, as well as offering similar numbers of medals as them too.

Conclusion

So hopefully, our handy guide will help you find those much-needed medals, telling you how to find this particularly valuable resource. In addition to these buildings, you can also get medals by going on quests, daily challenges, and in-game events. But for guaranteed medals, make sure you get building!
