How 2 Fernando in Paladins?

Hello everyone. In this article I will talk about the champion Fernando from the game Paladins. Fernando is the definition of a “stand your ground” tank. He is big, bold, and built for one thing: walking forward and staying there. Armed with his Flame Lance, Fernando doesn’t rely on precise shots or mechanical aim. Instead, he bathes enemies in a steady stream of fire at short range, dealing consistent damage over time. It’s not the flashiest primary weapon, but it is reliable and great at keeping pressure on enemies who wander too close. What truly defines Fernando, however, is his Shield. When he holds it up, it creates a massive barrier in front of him that absorbs incoming damage, allowing him to escort his team, block enemy pushes, and control space like few others can. Unlike champions who dip in and out of fights, Fernando lives in the front line. When he’s played right, the enemy team either has to waste serious resources trying to burn through him or completely change their plan to get around him.

Fernando’s mobility comes from Charge, a short burst forward that can knock back enemies and help reposition. While not as flashy as a teleport or leap, Charge is a crucial tool for peeling flankers off your supports, creating distance from danger, or initiating a fight with a quick shove. His Fireball ability is often underestimated. It is a ranged, low-cooldown skill shot that applies burn damage and helps him finish off retreating targets or apply pressure before closing in. Skilled Fernando players weave Fireballs between blocks and Flame Lance pressure to keep their threat level up even when they’re not right next to their enemies. He is not a tank that chases down squishies or wins duels with burst damage, but his strength lies in his ability to survive just long enough to stall a fight, hold a line, or give his team time to reposition. When coordinated with a good healer, Fernando can become infuriating to remove from the battlefield. His ultimate is what truly defines him.

Fernando’s ultimate, Immortal, is one of the most powerful defensive abilities in the entire game when used at the right moment. When activated, it grants temporary invulnerability to himself and nearby allies, which can completely nullify enemy ultimates or flip the outcome of a losing teamfight. It is best used during clutch moments—when your team is on the brink of death, pushing into a heavily fortified point, or trying to survive a dangerous enemy engage. Talent-wise, Aegis is the go-to for players who want a stronger, longer-lasting shield and want to act as the centerpiece of their team’s front. Scorch buffs Fireball for more offensive pressure, while Formidable gives Fernando a self-heal when low on health, making him tougher to kill in solo duels. While not always the most popular pick in high-tier ranked due to his limited offensive threat and shield-dependent playstyle, Fernando still shines in coordinated teams and maps where long, slow pushes win games. In the right hands, with good timing and positioning, he becomes a wall that simply refuses to fall.
