War Thunder - My Honest Opinion

I was very unsure of this game at first thinking, how fun or realistic could this game actually be? I was playing other games and decided that I would put War Thunder on a try out later list. Wow! What a mistake. Do not wait on this one! First of all, the information tab was an awesome surprise. The history and fun facts about each vehicle was interesting and educational. The stories about specific pilots and replaying actual battles that were fought in history is amazing! For a split second I had an, "I can't imagine what emotions these brave soldiers went through." As I viewed the battle scene from the cockpit of an aircraft. It's an amazingly beautiful, scary and exciting battlefield. The emphasis on how the vehicles function is very detailed and you can really feel the difference comparing rank, type of vehicle and upgrades.My favorite mode is Realistic Battles. If you like simulations, aircraft, heavy tanks and an open battlefield that offers a wealth of historic information, play War Thunder!

The battlefield graphics are great! The closer you are to a target the clearer you can see them and can engage! The ground forces also fire back. Watch your altitude! The emphasis on how the vehicles function is very detailed and you can really feel the difference comparing rank, type of vehicle and upgrades. The aiming is not where you look, but the angle that certain gun placements can reach. As I am looking to my left the plane will turn in the direction I am facing in mouse aim control. How fast the turn is, and the effect the crew on board is also effected by rank, upgrades, and the statistics for the vehicle you are using. I love the aircraft. the capabilities per vehicle also change. If I am using a bomber, I normally am in high altitudes raining bombs on targets below. If I am in a striker like the picture shows, then I am at low altitudes targeting with guns more than bombs or rockets. It is a great time! As you can see on the left bottom side of the picture you can chat as well.

Cockpit view literally puts you in the seat! The option to zoom let's you see the target on the ground and in the air! When having to turn quickly the zoom in and out and direction move in sync. What a beautiful game! In mouse aim control as I look up, I can see the glass above me. As the aircraft moves in the direction that I am looking, the view from the pilot is in sync and everything just runs smoothly. I find it easy to dog fight in this mode of viewing. I feel I have more control of the plane in this mode. Especially, when strafing target and need to pull up. Landing in this view I can really see how close I am to the runway and have had more successful landings. I realize not everyone is a fan of this viewing mode, but I highly recommend at least playing in this view at least a couple games. Overall this game has really surprised me! I have had a great time playing this game and will continue to play this game for a long time. The ranking system, researching vehicle to unlock for purchasing, the unlocking of weapons for the vehicles, and the ability to customize weapons and skins is a thumbs up!
