LOL or League of Legends is a multiplayer online battle arena developed and published by Riot Games in October 2009. The game was developed for PC usage and works for both Windows and MacOS. LOL has a massive following, and League championships and worldwide competitions have been held in America since 2013.

The game is played from a third person POV, with the players being allotted the roles of summoners, who can control Champions, each with a set of unique abilities. The players choose or are assigned a new champion in every match, starting with the weakest and advancing to the stronger avatars as they progress in the game. The game is currently operating in three game modes: Summoner's Rift, Twisted Treeline, and Howling Abyss. Within each game mode, players compete in matches ranging from 20 minutes to an hour. A team of players work together to defeat enemies, and destroy the Nexus, or the core building, in the enemy base.

Players begin the game with a specific amount of gold and can earn or as the game advances by fighting NPCs such as minions and monsters, killing and battling enemies, attacking enemy bases and collecting abilities. The gold can then be used to purchase in-game items to enhance character abilities and gameplay. The players begin at level one and can go up to a maximum of level 30. The champion level is different from the player level. A new champion will always begin at the weakest level. Players can also choose to play individual games and PVE game modes.
