Developers DeChengdu Aurora Technology Development C Ltd launched Storm Online back in 2007 in China, and it was only in 2011 when an English language version was released. This popular massively multiplayer online role-playing game is free to play and uses a 2.5D isometric design.
Like many MMORPGs, Storm Online takes part in a rich fantasy world where nations fight it out for supremacy. There are both PVP and PVE elements, giving you the chance to play solo or as part of a team. You can take part in quests, level up your character, and fight in large-scale PVP battles.
When you start the game, you can choose to create a character based on three different archetypes; Warrior, Hunter, and Mage. Each one of this is tailored towards a particular gameplay style, giving you the chance to experiment with what works for you. The weapons you get to use also depend on which class you pick; Warriors use swords, Mages have staves, and Hunters use bows. Successful teams will have a mixture of all three.
You also have to choose your faction affiliation. Each one has its own mentality and relationship with others. For example, Vast Clouds are courageous and full of vengeance, the sworn enemies of the honorable Stable Earth. Whichever one you choose, you’ll fight alongside other gamers in your faction and receive quests related to your choice.
